How It Works: Your Step-by-Step Medical Trip to China
A rigorous medical pre-review always comes first, so you never travel blindly. Starting with one online submission of your complete original medical records, you stay clearly informed of the key timeline at every step, exactly who is responsible for what, and the standardized deliverable of each stage — including where our service ends.
MedTravel China is an independent cross-border medical coordination and information management platform that strictly follows Chinese law and healthcare industry standards. This platform does not provide online clinical diagnosis of any kind, does not issue prescriptions, does not guarantee admission to any public hospital, the reservation of any specific inpatient bed, or any given clinical outcome, and does not warrant any specific approval timeline. All clinical conclusions, surgical plans and final decisions on admission and care rest solely with the attending physicians and expert committees of our partner top-tier public Class-A tertiary hospitals in China, made independently on the basis of an in-person examination and re-review of the patient.
Your China Medical Tourism Guide: Six Stages, from Intake to Follow-Up
Every step sets a strict time window, defined document standards and clear lines of responsibility, so that before you fly to China you already hold a complete and reliable basis for treatment.
Stage 1: Submit Your Contact Details and Existing Original Medical Records
The patient or a designated family member submits medical records through our online form, and the system automatically assigns a dedicated case ID. This stage focuses on collecting original clinical evidence that has not been altered or re-processed; blurry photographs or verbal descriptions are never accepted in place of professional medical imaging.
- check_circle DICOM imaging disc or archive (CT / MRI / PET-CT)
- check_circle Pathology biopsy reports of the primary/metastatic lesions, with immunohistochemistry results
- check_circle Discharge summaries and routine blood chemistry reports from the last 14 days
- check_circle Complete medication prescriptions and resistance records from the last 3 months
Stage 2: Manual Completeness Check and Initial Assessment of Your Records
Our international medical coordinators examine image slice thickness and sharpness and verify consistent slide numbering, then run the first structured medical review of multilingual records (including English and other major languages). If key diagnostic evidence is missing, the coordinator sends you a clear checklist of what to provide — incomplete records are never forwarded to a Class-A tertiary hospital.
No further fees are charged at this stage. If your records have major gaps that cannot be completed locally, or your physical condition would not safely allow a long-haul flight, the coordination team will tell you the risks honestly, advise against unnecessary spending on a trip to China, and refund the full 300 USD coordination fee you paid by the same method.
Stage 3: Sign the Service Agreement and Start Hospital Submission
Payment is completed at submission. Once your records pass pre-review and meet the imaging standards required by Class-A tertiary hospital specialists, we formally sign the service agreement for international-patient cross-border medical coordination consultation. A single flat consultation fee applies (USD 300, collected with your submission), with itemized charges published in advance — we firmly reject any hidden markup or vague billing at any point in your care.

- done Targeted submission to expert teams at national regional medical centers and multi-department consultation coordination

Stage 4: Specialist Review at a Class-A Tertiary Hospital and Preliminary Admission Opinion
Your fully organized bilingual medical file is delivered to partner Class-A tertiary hospitals — such as The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Zhumadian Zhenggu Hospital (orthopedic specialty, Henan), both national key clinical specialty centers. A senior clinical expert panel examines the records and issues a preliminary opinion on whether your case is feasible for treatment in China.
Referrals are limited to top-tier public Class-A tertiary general hospitals and national regional specialty treatment centers accredited by China’s National Health Commission, ensuring clinical skill and academic authority.
Stage 5: Hospital Liaison, Medical Visa Documents and Pre-Departure Support
Based on the hospital’s admission opinion, we apply to the partner medical institution for an official medical visa invitation letter (stamped by its international affairs or international medical department) and guide you in preparing the proof of financial means and accompanying-family documents required by the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country.
Chinese embassies and consulates abroad holdabsolute independent discretionover the issuance of medical visas and admission to China. We prepare all compliant hospital-side supporting documents, but we cannot influence or guarantee the outcome of a visa application or its processing time.
Stage 6: Hospital Care, Treatment, and Post-Departure Follow-Up Boundaries
After you land in China, our medical travel coordinator arranges ground transfers, international outpatient registration, ward admission procedures and bilingual in-hospital communication support. At discharge, we help you obtain the hospital’s official total bill and an English discharge summary, and a long-term remote follow-up channel stays open after you leave the country.
